  1. Domestic Law bill News
    The Korea National Tax Service announced a virtual asset business operator to evaluate properties in case of inheritance or donation of cryptocurrency from 2022. The announced operators include Korea’s four major exchanges: Upbit, Bithumb Korea, Korbit, and Coinone. Therefore, if virtual assets traded on the exchange are inherited or donated, it is evaluated as the daily average value posted by the operators for one month.

  2. Exchange News
    The performance of NFT auctions held on Upbit NFT (https://upbit.com/nft)) is on the decline even though ambitiously prepared by Upbit, Korea’s No. 1 exchange. On the 27th, eight NFT collections planned and produced based on the K-drama ‘Jiri Mountain’ were unveiled, but for the first time in Upbit NFT history, there was no bidder, so the auction got off. This can be seen as a failure of Upbit’s ‘factory’ strategy, which is far beyond the nature of NFT and is in just a hurry to follow the trend.
    On December 29, Bithumb and Coinone announced a policy that allows withdrawals only to pre-registered addresses in line with the government’s travel rule regulations. According to the announcement, from January next year, cryptocurrency will not be sent with a personal wallet that cannot be certified by KYC like Meta Mask. As a result, Korean De-fi users, who mainly use those exchanges responded with concern, and some predict that additional users could be absorbed by upbit that does not participate in this movement.

  3. Community Keyword
    On December 13, three months after the Korean De-fi project Donkey rejected the request to disclose the contract, the source code was released to GitHub, but it was not enough to overcome public opinion from the Korean community, which had already tilted negatively.
    As the overall market has been staying on the plateau, The interest from Korean users in retroactive airdrop projects, starting with ENS, SOS, and GAS are increasing. Recently, information on projects such as Cowswap and Element Finance, which have developed products but have not yet issued tokens, has been actively shared.
